Entrepreneur and tech consultant Rush Somauroo is currently working on the property partnerships side of the new HomeHero product. Rush talks golf, self-help must-reads and HomeHero plans.
WHERE DO WE FIND YOU THIS WEEKEND?
Weather permitting, I’ll try to get an early tee time and get a round of golf in before the family time starts. There’s something I find very therapeutic about hitting a little white ball around the British countryside. Then home and breakfast with my family to discuss the plan for the day. Usually an errand, a DIY task, and some imaginative way to entertain our daughter.
WHAT’S THE BEST THING YOU READ TODAY?
Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz. It’s a self-help classic. Just picked it up so a little early to give my critique but I’ve heard good things.
WHAT’S FOR LUNCH?
Last night’s dinner…. Pad Thai probably.
TO WORK OR NOT TO WORK ON A SUNDAY?
Juggling homeschooling in the week often means the work will spill into the weekend. Fortunately, we are working on some interesting things so it doesn’t feel like work at all. I’ll probably get a few hours in around family time.
WHAT’S THE BEST THING YOU’LL BE WORKING ON THIS WEEK?
I’m working on our agent and partner channels. Our relationships, the way we communicate and deliver our offering through HomeHero. It’s an exciting time. I’m speaking with Build to Rent operators and developers around the problems they are facing and what it means to them to have a building powered by HomeHero.
WHAT’S YOUR SUNDAY WIND-DOWN ROUTINE?
As odd as it sounds I feel most recharged when I’m thinking about problems in the world that need a solution. I’ve been thinking a lot about personal budgeting and the moving process. First-time buyers entering into a market post lockdown, renters managing finances, mass redundancies, and what that means for mortgage applications. I guess when tech is your hammer everything looks like a nail…
